The project has been steadily ongoing since its inception despite ever present challenges. Two of the ten children funded by Siyanda passed their final year in primary school and have proceeded to high school. We wish them well in their new chapter of life in pursuit of education.
In January as schools opened, our education coordinator travelled to Mtshabezi to meet children funded by Siyanda and to offer them words of encouragement for this year. The meeting was attended by children and their carers and the head teacher. The coordinator stressed the importance of education, emphasising the need for development of partnership between carers and teachers in order to further support children.
This year Siyanda Trust is planning exciting development for the project that it will launch to coincide with the Day of the African Child 16th June 2018. Watch this space for more information.
